Bembang!: First I'll just ask personal information about yourself.
Karel: Ok. I’m seventeen years old. Birthday, December 21, 1986. Reedley International School. I just graduated.
Bembang!: You’re seventeen, right? What are your plans on your eighteenth birthday?
Karel: Syempre debut talaga. But before that I’ll probably have a pre-party then the formal debut.
Bembang!: Ok, so you’re gonna invite us?
Karel: Ahaha! Sa sige sa pre-party!
Bembang!: Can you tell me what you’re really like in person?
Karel: Oh, I’m weird. I'm not madaldal. I’m moody, ummm, I’m makulit. And no matter what I smile… Happy!
Bembang!: How did become a VJ?
Karel: We were hand-picked. At first we were like 10, some were models. Then we auditioned. I really wanted to be a VJ so I did my best talaga during our audition.
Bembang!: Who do you think is the best VJ? Who do you look up to?
Karel: Well, Donita Rose. Not just as a VJ, but everything. Because first, she is so religious, I mean not because she’s a Born Again also. Pero alam mo yun, No matter how busy she is, she always has time to talk to God, and then she’s ano pa, she’s gorgeous!
Bembang!: What do you usually do on your day off?
Karel: I go out with my friends or I go to the spa.
Bembang!: Mahilig kang gumimik?
Karel: Once in a while yeah, bar hopping! Normal gimmicks, with my friends, with Sarah. Like these kind of gimmicks, pero of course not me singing. Chill out lang, or friend’s house.
Bembang!: I read from a magazine that you’re into techie stuff.
Karel: Super! A lot!
Bembang!: What about the internet?
Karel: Yeah. That’s how I talk to my fans on mail.
Bembang!: How has technology affected you?
Karel: Ever since I was young, grade four may beeper na ako… I started with Alcatel… Ever since pa talaga. Super! I’m techie now. I have a laptop, tatlong phone, I don’t know why.
Bembang!: So your earnings dun napupunta?
Karel: Yeah, big portion, yeah.
Bembang!: What would be your dream gadget? I mean what do you plan on buying next?
Karel: Not gadget, but I want my own condo, studio unit. Siguro when I’m like 21 na, I’ll start first with the ano… I want to have my own car muna. Then after that, siguro when I’m like 22 then I save up again, I can have my own little small stuido.

Bembang!: You know how to drive already?
Karel: Yeah. But I don’t have my license pa. This summer, I’ll get my license na.
Bembang!: Mag-college ka na, right?
Karel: I’ll go to Thames. I’m getting BA. Major in Marketing.
Bembang!: Ok here's a question, can you give five reasons why you like growing up?
Karel: Ok my commercial! I guess to meet a lot of friends… I guess because I do new things everyday. And I learn a lot of things. Each day is really different. I grow and grow everyday… With my work, I improve. My talent, I want to share it to everyone.

Bembang!: What kind of music do you really love?
Karel: RnB and Hip-hop.
Bembang!: Hip-hop? How come you didn't sing RnB or hip-hop songs tonight?
Karel: Because our motive for this gig was sabi nila Pop-Rock-Alternative. I really sing like Beyonce songs. But it's ok at least I get to sing different songs so my style would be like versatile and not just one genre.
Bembang!: Are you also planning on recording an album?
Karel: Actually I heard that they're planning on producing an album for me, I'm really not sure I think they're meeting on it. But that's something diba? But I'm not sure what kind, what concept. But yes there are plans.
Bembang!: What do you love more? Singing or acting?
Karel: Singing. I started singing when I was like, five. Yung mga Broadway. When you hear my voice it's kind of rockish di ba? Pero I sing Broadway.
Bembang!: You sing very well.
Karel: Thank You!
Bembang!: What local artists you listen to?
Karel: Kyla, Jay R, Nina. I like Kitchie Nadal, you know, ‘run fast if you can…’
Bembang!: Oh, she was here earlier. (This was the same time Kitchie did her shoot for MYX Live)
Karel: Where? I am a fan!
Bembang!: Actually she was our feature before.
Karel: Galing! Cool! I'm a fan.
Bembang!: Are you currently involved with anyone?
Karel: I'm linked "daw" to someone in showbiz pero no. Kasi I think if kasi if ever I have a boyfriend right now, felling ko ano eh, baka masaktan lang yung guy. I’m busy eh. Kunyari, people want to go for me, I can't deny that diba, I'm just saying na I have no time, tapos I'm going to college pa, I'm enjoying my work, priorities muna, I'm seventeen!

Bembang!: Yeah, you’re really young! So when you go to college, pano yung work mo?
Karel: In Thames I can fix my schedule. Ok lang naman na I don't have a full load. Basta, I didn’t stop high school. Kahit na everything was so hectic. I just graduated like two weeks ago. Hirap, pero I did it.
Acquiesce: So mas priority mo talaga yung school.
Karel: I don’t want to stop talaga. And I didn't.
Bembang!: Whats your favorite part of being in this business?
Karel: I get to meet a lot of new friends, improve your talent, and sometimes… hehe! … you get freebies! (giggles)… For example, like in a restaurant, I get free drinks or free slice of cake or something.
Bembang!: What do you like to achieve the most? You know, in life or being an artist… Your biggest dream.
Karel: I want to be like Ms. Sharon Cuneta, Donita Rose, so many good talents. I mean in this industry ha, pero besides that I think if ever I'm not going to be in showbiz forever, that's why I didn't take MassCom or a course that's related to the industry, I took Marketing kasi I really want to open up a business like my own Resto-Bar like Dish, I want to open up a Parlor, Spa or Salon.

Bembang!: Can you complete this sentence, “My day isn’t complete without______”?
Karel: Washing my face!
Bembang!: Washing your face using Ponds?
Karel: (Giggles). You know why? Ganito yun ha, that’s why some people say “Why do you have clear skin, blah blah blah..” Advice ko to ha... No matter what, kahit puyat na puyat, or I’m very tired I came from work and it’s like 4am or 5am, eh ang kapal ng makeup ko during the show di ba? I wash my face, kahit sobrang tamad, parang it's a routine na, parang commitment.
Bembang!: Who do you think is the better singer, you or your mom?
Karel: My mom! Nagmana yata ako sa kanya!
Bembang!: What makes you really mad?
Karel: When someone tries to put me down and of course I don’t make patol, ‘coz I don’t want to feel bad without my good friends. No one can put me down when I'm with my good friends. And I just don’t like it when someone bashes you na wala ka naman ginagawa sa kanya. Some people are like that. I just have to be strong.
Bembang!: Eto, last na… what do you look for in a guy?
Karel: Phsically of ugali?
Bembang!: Both nalang
Karel: First physical, ok I don't really look pero really ask my type, gusto yung mga, wait I can't describe eh, hindi chubby eh, mukhang chubby pero big-boned. You know what I mean? Not buff like Carlos Agassi.

Bembang!: Not like me?
Karel: Hehe, or not too big diba, basta big-boned, Eh I'm small pa diba.
Bembang!: Sino ba dito sample?
Karel: Wala eh hehe.
Bembang!: Crew: Sayang!
Bembang!: What about sa ugali?
Karel: Ugali? The usual. Sweet, understanding. Kailangan talaga understanding, kasi my work, di ba? He has to understand what I’m doingOf course, loyal and faithful… Malambing!
Bembang!: Would you go out with a rockstar or a jock?
Karel: I’d go out with a normal guy.
Bembang!: Ok, what else… What about your upcoming shows or… what’s in store for you?
Karel: The other are confidential eh. Pero ayun, every Thursday Dish. I’ll be at MTB. I’m a regular na rin at ASAP.Then Weekend Love. There's a new show called Weekend Love. You know yung show na ‘Tara Tena’? Diba yung host dun is Senator Loren Legarda? Dito naman, iba-ibang host per month. I’ll be the host for the 3rd month of July. And all of the episodes of the ‘Weekend Love’ will be out of town. Like, Boracay, Hundred Islands, etc.
Bembang!: Ok I think that's about it.
Karel: That's it? Ok!

Karel: Sure!
